My project will focus on the culture of live food streaming online, investigating short videos and live streaming platforms such as Tik Tok, YouTube, Instagram reels and more. I will delve into case studies to examine the differences between live food videos on different platforms and reveal the impact that the live-streaming anchor industry has had.

Ella Rebbitt

My dissertation will focus on cancel culture online, mainly on social media platforms such as YouTube. Delving into case studies, questioning why they are different, and comparing severities.

My final media project is in the form of a video essay. It will discuss the changing nature of advertisements targeted at children and young people. Further, it will analyse the psychology behind children's susceptibility to adverts focusing specifically on YouTube's targeted advertisements, which is a popular site with children.

Maya Michalska

My dissertation will explore the positive and negative impacts of social media influencers on today's society.

For my dissertation, I will be focusing on 'How online media has amplified over-consumption'. Specifically, I will be looking at how product promotional posts are produced within the digital age. The production of this kind of media will link to how it is consumed and how this persuades customers to buy unnecessarily. This can give us insight on how companies prey on insecurity, and the deception of advertisement- which will further show the impact this has on a current society, living through cost-of-living crisis and still being convinced through social sources.
