MAKING MEDIA
February 2nd 15:35 to 16:15/ Chair: Tyler Law
In this section of the symposium called “Making Media,” we are excited to present three exciting practical projects. To kick things off, Charlie Didd will examine the world of podcasting, focusing on Promo and Marketing. Following that, Rhys Lloyd will introduce an interesting documentary along with a client project that explores the impact of editing in content creation. Next, Maurizio Kayonjo will share his documentary on Uganda's education disparities, with the intention of raising awareness on this critical issue. Enosh Emanuel will talk about creating a documentary on social media, exploring its effects on individuals and society, analysing variations across age demographics.
Rhys Lloyd
My project is practice based. It’s a documentary on how much editing matters in content creation and I’ll be doing it on a client project
Charlie Didd
My Project is a practice based project on promotional content & marketing. I will be creating an informative Podcast episode with an industry professional to dig deeper into the techniques behind these two topics.
Maurizio Kayonjo
My documentary, titled "Education Disparities in Uganda," explores the challenges faced by the country's education system.
Through historical footage and present-day narratives, the film explores Uganda's educational evolution through the viewpoints of NGOs, teachers, students, and families.
Addressing issues ranging from conflict and teacher shortages to household poverty and the impact of COVID-19, the documentary serves as a call to action to resolve educational disparities.
Enosh Emanuel
I will be creating a documentary on social media showing both the positive and negative effects it has on people and society as a whole. I will be speaking to a range of age demographics to analyse how the effect of social media differs from generation to generation.
